Did you know the Redwood Empire Food Bank offers daily essentials to our community in addition to groceries? We recognize that health and hygiene items are absolutely necessary for maintaining our well-being. In partnership with Healthy Petaluma District and Foundation, we are collecting period products for our clients in need. The best part about this drive (aside from alleviating period poverty) is that all of the donations collected will stay in Petaluma and surrounding south county areas.
We are calling on our dedicated volunteers to help us collect pads, tampons, and other menstrual supplies for those in our community who struggle to purchase these items.1 in 3 low-income people with periods report missing work, school, or similar events due to a lack of access to period supplies. Join us for a volunteer shift on Thursday, August 22nd to help ensure our neighbors have access to these daily essentials.
