Who We Are

Since 1987, the Redwood Empire Food Bank has been feeding our neighbors in need and leading the community to end hunger. We distribute food through our own programs and our partner organizations in Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, Humboldt and Del Norte counties. We work on the front lines of food assistance in our region playing a crucial role in helping individuals, families, seniors, and children.

Step into the community to collect food, raise funds, and spark conversations that make a difference! 


Help support your neighbors at grocery stores, fairs, festivals, and other local events. These special event drives are about more than collecting donations they’re a chance to connect, inform, and inspire action. 


  • What You’ll Do: Greet and engage with the public at our booth, collect food and monetary donations, share information about our hunger-relief programs and services, and answer basic questions about volunteering or how to get food support. 

  • Where: Locations vary throughout the communityevent details will be shared in advance.

  • Who Can Join: Individuals and groups who enjoy talking with people and making a positive impact in public spaces. 

  • Experience: Be part of a friendly, outward-facing team that helps raise awareness, build trust, and expand support for our mission.
