Safeway Nourishing Neighbors Campaign – Special Event Volunteer Opportunity
Thank you so much for supporting the Redwood Empire Food Bank through Safeway’s Nourishing Neighbors Holiday Fundraiser on Saturday, November 16. Below are important details for your volunteer shift:
Event Details:
Safeway will be hosting its annual Nourishing Neighbors campaign on Saturday from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, and we’re seeking Redwood Empire Food Bank volunteers to help distribute flyers at the store entrance. You’re welcome to bring family or friends along!
When you arrive, please check in at the Customer Service Desk or with the store manager, Steve.
Volunteer Shift 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM:
Please arrive at your designated Safeway location at 10:00 AM and check in with the Manager on Duty at Guest Services. They will provide you with flyers to distribute to customers entering the store. These flyers encourage shoppers to donate $10 at the register to a local nonprofit, although they don’t explicitly mention the Redwood Empire Food Bank. As a volunteer, we kindly ask that you inform shoppers that the Nourishing Neighbors campaign helps support the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Please distribute flyers until the next volunteer team arrives at 12:00 PM.
Volunteer Shift 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM:
Please arrive at your designated Safeway location at 12:00 PM and check in with the volunteers from the previous shift (or with the Manager on Duty at Guest Services). The current volunteers will pass on any remaining flyers, but if more are needed, the Manager on Duty can assist. Again, the flyers encourage donations of $10 to a local nonprofit, so please share that the Nourishing Neighbors campaign supports the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Continue distributing flyers until 2:00 PM, when your shift will conclude.
If you are unable to attend your shift, please contact Katie at kkarns@refb.org as soon as possible so we can find a replacement and inform the store.
No Redwood Empire Food Bank staff will be present at this event. Additional details will be provided as we approach the event date. Stay tuned!
