Did you know the Redwood Empire Food Bank offers daily essentials to our community in addition to groceries? We recognize that health and hygiene items are absolutely necessary to maintaining our well-being. That said, in honor of Period Action Day, we are partnering with the Alliance for Period Supplies to collect period products with the hopes of alleviating and spreading awareness surrounding period poverty.
We are calling on our volunteers to help us collect pads, tampons, and other menstrual supplies for those in our community struggling to purchase these items. One in three low-income people with periods report missing work, school, or similar events due to a lack of access to period supplies. Join us for a volunteer shift on October 13th to help ensure our neighbors have access to these daily essentials. For this volunteer opportunity, please report to the address listed below.
