The National Association of Letter Carriers will hold its annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive-the nation’s largest single-day food drive-on Saturday, May 9th. On this day, community members are encouraged to leave a bag of non-perishable food items by their mailboxes. Letter carriers will collect these donations during their regular routes and deliver them to local post offices, where the Redwood Empire Food Bank will pick them up for distribution to families in need.
We are seeking volunteers to assist at the Sebastopol Post Office. Volunteers will help letter carriers unload food donations from mail trucks and transfer the items into collection totes. Your support will play a vital role in ensuring this essential nourishment reaches our neighbors facing hunger, especially as food banks experience increased demand and declining support heading into the summer months.
The Redwood Empire Food Bank serves 135,000 individuals. Join us to help ensure they have access to fresh, healthy food this summer.
