The Sonoma County Fair is hosting a one-day food drive benefiting the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Anyone who brings three items from our most-needed list will get into the fair for just $1!
We are looking for volunteers to assist with collecting donations at the fair entrances. Those who volunteer will receive a parking pass as well as an entry to the fair. This is a great opportunity for teams or groups as well! Last year, we collected over 13,000 lbs of food and had a fantastic time!
Volunteer Shift Registration
All volunteers, including children, must register individually before their shift. Volunteers under 18 must have a guardian present unless prior approval is obtained from both the guardian and Redwood Empire Food Bank staff.
To be fully prepared, we require all volunteers to review our Volunteer Handbook, which covers key details on volunteering with groups/teams, policies, and FAQs.
We value respect, fairness, and kindness—negative remarks or harassment will not be tolerated.

Before You Arrive & What to Expect
This Food Drive can be fast-paced, with volunteers assisting with set-up until clean-up. Expect to be on your feet and lift canned food items throughout your entire shift.
Wearing sturdy, closed-toed shoes is required. Crocs and slip-on styles are not permitted.
Bring your own water bottle and dress comfortably in layers, preferably bright colors or a safety vest for visibility.
We will reach out the week before the event with more information and which gate to report to. Questions? For more information, contact the Volunteer Team at volunteers@refb.org or (707) 523-7905. Our priority is to feed the community while creating a great volunteer experience. If you are unable to attend, please let us know at least 24 hours before your scheduled shift. We can’t wait for you to join us—thank you for making a difference!
