Butter & Egg Days Parade - “Imagine a Hunger-Free Wonderland”
Join the Redwood Empire Food Bank as we roll through Petaluma’s iconic Butter & Egg Days Parade on April 19th! The parade steps off at noon and marches through Petaluma’s historic downtown.
This year’s theme is “Petaluma’s Wonderland – Where Imagination Blooms,” and we’re bringing our own twist with “Imagine a Hunger-Free Wonderland.” Inspired by whimsical elements from Alice in Wonderland, we’ll combine creativity and community impact to spread awareness about food insecurity.
Costumes: As parade participants, we are required to be costumed. We request you dress as oversized food items—eggs, butter, fruits, vegetables, loaves of bread, and milk cartons—highlighting essential food bank staples. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us, dressed in their fruity finest, to help inspire the community. Here are some healthy fruit costume ideas: Strawberry , Apple, and Pineapple . We also have 4 banana costumes (like this one) if you'd like to borrow one—please let us know!
Parade Route: Be prepared to walk one mile – The parade will start at the corner of D Street and Fourth Street. It will proceed on Fourth Street to Kentucky Street, right onto Washington Street, right onto Petaluma Boulevard North to Petaluma Boulevard South, and end at D Street.

When: Saturday, April 19th
Where: Meet us at Staging Area 3 on 4th Street between F and G Streets at 11:00 AM. Look for the green Redwood Empire Food Bank van lined up for the parade.
What to Expect: The parade may take some time to get rolling, so please expect to spend a few hours with us.
