As a Donation Station Volunteer, you'll be the welcoming face for community members dropping off food donations at our Distribution Center. You'll help make the donation process easy and enjoyable while assisting with the collection, sorting, and organization of essential food donations. Every donation you help receive brings us one step closer to ensuring our neighbors have access to nutritious food. You’ll assist with tasks such as:
Greeting Food Donors – Welcome individuals and groups dropping off donations, answer basic questions, and provide a friendly first impression.
Accepting & Unloading Donations – Assist donors with unloading food from personal vehicles and receiving donations from community food drives.
Weighing & Recording Donations – Weigh donated food, accurately record donation totals, and provide donors with a receipt for their contribution.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people and providing excellent customer service. Since you'll be communicating directly with our generous food donors, a friendly, welcoming attitude is essential. This position can be performed while seated.
Volunteer Shift Registration All volunteers must register individually before their shift. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer at the Donation Station. To be fully prepared, we require all volunteers to review our Volunteer Handbook, which covers key details, policies, and FAQs. Before You Arrive & What to Expect A safety vest must be worn at all times. If you do not have your own, one will be provided. Wearing sturdy, closed-toed shoes is required. Crocs and slip-on styles are not permitted. We recommend wearing layered clothing—our Distribution Center can be chilly and don’t forget to bring a water bottle. Please check in at the Lobby Kiosk upon arrival to your volunteer shift and then check in with the front desk staff. Questions? Our Distribution Center is located at 3990 Brickway Blvd, Santa Rosa, CA 95403. Parking is available in our lot as well as in the neighboring ThermalSun lot. Please enter the parking areas slowly and with caution.
