As a Food Connections Market volunteer, you’ll assist Food Connections Market staff with projects, such as:
Restocking Dry & Canned Goods – Organize and stock items like cans, cereal, pasta, and rice based on demand.
Sorting & Gleaning Food – Inspect and organize dry goods, produce, and bread, checking for quality and expiration dates.
Cleaning & Consolidating Pallets – Sweep, remove trash, and reorganize partially filled pallets to maximize space.

Volunteer Shift Registration
All volunteers must register individually before their shift. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer in the Food Connections Market. To be fully prepared, we require all volunteers to review our Volunteer Handbook, which covers key details, policies, and FAQs. We value respect, fairness, and kindness—negative remarks or harassment will not be tolerated. Tracking your hours? Visit our Verifying Hours page for step-by-step instructions. Before You Arrive & What to Expect Wearing sturdy, closed-toed shoes is required. Crocs and slip-on styles are not permitted. We recommend wearing layered clothing—our Distribution Center can be chilly and don’t forget to bring a water bottle. Please check in at the Lobby Kiosk upon arrival to your volunteer shift and then report to the Food Connections Market for instructions. Volunteers must be able to lift at least 50 lbs, stand the entire time, and may be asked to give instructions to partner agencies. Volunteers must read labels carefully, follow safety guidelines, and work independently. Earbuds and headphones are not permitted while in the Food Connections Market due to safety precautions. Our Distribution Center is located at 3990 Brickway Blvd, Santa Rosa, CA 95403. Parking is available in our lot as well as in the neighboring ThermalSun lot. Please enter the parking areas slowly and with caution.
