Monthly Volunteer Updates:
Volunteer of the Month: The Redwood Empire Food Bank is excited to announce that Kathy Sharp is our March Volunteer of the Month! Kathy is a beloved volunteer who has served for six years and given over 600 hours of her time. She is well known for serving the community with a smile at all of the seven distributions she volunteers at each week. You can usually find Kathy providing traffic support at our Santa Rosa and Petaluma food distributions. She is training to help the Redwood Empire Food Bank staff with checking-in participants and volunteers. Kathy has traveled as far as Point Arena to volunteer when she heard that the Redwood Empire Food Bank was in need of extra volunteer support. Thank you, Kathy, for going the extra mile! Fun Facts about Kathy:

- She is learning to speak Spanish to better serve our community
- Kathy's husband, Dan, volunteers throughout the week with her and they are pretty competitive about who volunteers more
- When she is not volunteering, Kathy enjoys visiting her grown children and volunteering at their local food bank in Fresno!

Volunteer Opportunities
Super Volunteer: We are looking for a few Super Volunteers to help with warehouse shifts on Fridays and Saturdays. The ideal volunteer will be able to commit to a regular schedule. Please contact Liz at lberry@refb.org if you are interested in this role.
Groups Wanted! We are looking for groups that can make a longtime commitment at some of our larger sites including Petaluma Fairgrounds on Fridays and the Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Distributions on Thursdays.

Monthly Safety Tip: Stay safe in the rain. If you are volunteering outside and it is wet, try to wear bright colors and non-slip, water-resistant shoes. Don't drive through flooded areas…even to get to your volunteer shift! We want you to be safe, and understand if you are not able to make it due to weather.
